Proletarsky Zavod is one of the oldest machine-building enterprises in St.-Petersburg. The history of the enterprise from the day of its foundation until nowadays is reflected in the exposition of the museum, that was opened in 1968.

The museum was founded by the decision of enterprise’s administration and public organizations for the purpose of enlightenment and education as well as of collecting and keeping material about enterprise’s history. Thousands of excursionists have attended the museum for the years of its activities. Exhibitions, lessons of local history and meetings with interesting people are held here. The museum holdings number more than 6 thousands of various museum objects. In 1985 the museum was awarded a honorary title “Narodny” (“People’s”).

Today the museum is increased by new materials and history documents. All people, who are interested in the past and the present of the Russian industry, are welcome!
